The public ownership of land and buildings in the town centre means we can have a greater say in how Brixton changes.
While there may be concerns about the impact of development, there is also the potential to build 750 desperately needed new homes, including hundreds of affordable ones. Estimates that these new developments will also be home to around 1,000 new jobs will be good news too.
This isn’t a quick fix, but it is a chance to invest around £350 million in the town centre - helping local people and businesses to achieve their ambitions whilst treasuring Brixton’s unique character.
