In January and February 2013 the Council held four project workshops assisted by architects Pollard Thomas Edwards architects (PTEa) to develop the thinking so far. These workshops flagged up a number of constraints and challenges for the project.

Constraints included:

• The railway track
• London Underground tunnels running under the site
• London Underground substation
• Angela Davis depot
• Locally listed building and mural

We will outline the specific issues in six sections along the Somerleyton Road site, south to north:

• Angela Davis depot
  
• Somerleyton Road passage
  
• Transport for London substation
• Housing
• Theatre site
  
• Carlton mansions and nuclear dawn mural
