There will be lots happening over the next few weeks:
- A core group of local organisations will be meeting with architects to begin to design a proposal
- Brixton Green will be hosting a number of events to discuss the project more widely. A series of community workshops will be taking place for local people to feed into and agree the vision.
- Ovalhouse will be consulting on a potential move to Somerleyton Road.
Community workshops: Creating the shared vision
The first workshop, hosted by Brixton Green takes place
- on Saturday 9 February (drop-in any time between 11am to 5pm)
- at Dexter’s/Lysada Adventure Playground, 2-30 Railton Road, Brixton SE24 OLN
Social Life will be running this series of community workshops so everyone can develop the proposal in more detail. Alongside this Brixton Green will provide online resources, activities with local groups and door-to-door discussions. Too many developments, towns and cities fail because the reality of what people and communities want and need has been neglected in their creation. Social Life
This Spring everyone will have the chance to review the shared vision and the development ideas. Once we have agreed on a design we will start looking for a developer partner. It is possible that work could start on site in 2014.
