We have reached a major milestone – the LJ Works project was granted Planning permission on the 9th of May! The application and decision notice can be viewed here.
The application received no objections, but overwhelming support from the local community, which no doubt contributed to the decision. A massive thank you to the LJ Works community steering group and everyone who has supported the project so far.
We are now in the process of selecting a building contractor to deliver the works and are continuing to push for the social outcomes that make this project such an exciting example of community-based regeneration.

About LJ Works:
LJ Works is a new affordable workspace project funded by the Mayor of London’s Regeneration Fund and led by Lambeth Council. It will include a food business incubator, shared textiles workspace, co-working office and private studios and is located opposite the Loughborough Estate on a piece of land hosting the Loughborough Farm and adjoining site previously occupied as a storage yard for the Lambeth Housing Standard works.
The Loughborough Farm will be integrated with this new hub of local industry, creating an exciting space that brings craft, jobs, cooking and growing together. A steering group made up of local organisations and residents has been set up to guide the project and to ensure that it delivers real benefits for the local community.
