On Tuesday 14 April all five architect teams for the Somerlyeton Road project will be coming to Six Brixton to speak to the public about how they would like to design their proposed plots. Each team will show previous work and also answer any questions.

One of the five architect teams chosen is Brixton based, Zac Monroe who is responsible of the creative workspace of Carlton Mansions, the other teams and their plots are as follows:

  • Plot B – Foster Wilson – Ovalhouse Theatre
  • Plot C – Metropolitan Workshop – Chef School & Homes
  • Plot D – Mae – Extra Care Homes
  • Plot E – Haworth Tomkins – Nursery, Children’s Centre, Flexible Space, Gym, Housing Office, Retail Space & Homes (Sterling Prize in 2014)
  • Plot F – Metropolitan Workshop – Convenience Store & Homes

Igloo and Metwork came together on this project largely because of their shared passion for a particular approach to creating places through the hands of multiple architects. Practices have been selected based upon relevant experience, capability and genuine ability to work collegiately with others.

Food and refreshments will be provided and doors to this free event open at 5.30pm.

This is a really great opportunity to meet and speak to the people who will make Somerleyton Road look and feel like a road for all ages. Come and have you say……..
